Welcome
to the R. Samuel McLaughlin Centre for Population Health Risk
Assessment. The Centre is housed within the Institute
of Population Health at the University of Ottawa and its goal is
to continue to establish itself as a leading international research centre
in the field of population health risk studies.
The Centre identifies potential health risks to Canadians, including genetic
and biological, environmental and occupational, social and behaviourial risks
by using the best available methodologies in health risk science.
The McLaughlin Centre serves as a resource to a range of stakeholders, including
government, industry, and the public. Working with its partners in the federal
government, the Centre articulates and analyzes policy options for controlling
health risks, thereby contributing to the management of critical population health
risks in Canada.
By
working collaboratively within the comprehensive transdisciplinary framework,
the McLaughlin Centre for Population Health Risk Assessment addresses important
population health risks.
