Évaluations de l’état de préparation opérationnelle

Mental Readiness and its Links to Performance Excellence in Surgery

Hospital surgeons, who deal with intense, high-pressure situations during operations, were candidly interviewed. Mental preparedness strategies for surgery were found to parallel those of elite athletes and acknowledged as landmark research in the medical community. It features a sample of over 500 quotes from exceptional surgeons used in identifying and classifying a total of:

  • 50 surgeon-specific success skills
  • 10 major performance blocks that interfere with final outcome
  • 5 influential factors for optimal surgical performance (i.e., gender, mortality-risk, client age, years experience, elite reputation)

“There is no doubt that it is a first-class publication and should be read by all trainees and young consultants… This concept to the best of my knowledge has never been put on paper until your publication came out.”
